Finding energy

A UTA assistant professor will help build a microdevice that captures lost energy in things like automobiles, buildings and other devices. The research is funded through a highly competitive National Science Foundation EAGER grant.

Autonomous systems

The American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics will honor electrical engineering professor Frank Lewis in January with the society’s 2016 Intelligent Systems Award for his work to increase the capabilities of autonomous aircraft systems.

UTA GO Centers in high schools throughout nine regional school districts offer prospective college students mentoring and admissions advice while promoting a college-going culture. The program has been honored by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board.

A new National Science Foundation research grant will allow UTA software engineers to search automatically for ways to check development environments for computer bugs in cyber-physical systems.
