OWL TIP OF THE WEEK
Turn off your internal editor! What does that mean? Just write. Get all your ideas out, even if the draft is messy. Don't stop writing. Don't go back to "fix" parts of the essay, revise it, or edit. When you have a complete draft, then go back and read what you wrote, turn on your internal editor, and begin revising. For more assistance with the writing (or revising) process, check out our workshops or make an appointment with a consultant.
