The University of Texas at Arlington Engineering FIRST Scholarships is available to incoming freshmen engineering declared students who receive the President's Charter scholarship AND who have participated as a team member in a US FIRST competition in high school (FRC or FTC). This scholarship will require an additional application to the College of Engineering Scholarship Officer to verify FIRST participation. Information about this scholarship will be advertised through the US FIRST website specifically to participants in US FIRST activities. Preference will be given to students who participated in Texas FTC events, then in Texas FRC events, then any FTC events, then any FRC events.
The University of Texas at Arlington Engineering FIRST Scholarship Application will be available from the website or by e-mail request to the Engineering Scholarship officer ( tiernan@uta.edu). The UTA Engineering FIRST Scholarship Application must be submitted by Feb. 1st following the directions on the application. All requested material must be included for the application to be considered. Limited scholarships are available and applications will be considered on a first-come, first-served basis.
Students submitting an application for the UTA Engineering FIRST Scholarship must also meet all the requirements for a UT Arlington President's Charter Scholarship. These requirements are described below. The value of the President's Charter Scholarship is $8000 yearly. The College of Engineering will add $3000 yearly to this amount for the UTA Engineering FIRST Scholarship giving a yearly value of $11,000. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years .
