Photo of student Michelle Tuma. Michelle Tuma is a sophomore at UIS double majoring in Legal Studies and Political Science. Michelle is the head delegate of Model Illinois Government and a member of the UIS College Democrats, and Pre-Law Society, which is where she first heard of the Innocence Movement. After taking Professor Lawrence Golden’s class, Conviction of the Innocent in the fall of 2012, she decided to volunteer with the Illinois Innocence Project and hopes to do an Applied Study Term next fall. She is looking forward to learning more about the inner workings of the Project and the legal process associated with such work.
