Case Coordinator Rhonda Keech

Photo of Rhonda Keech. Rhonda was the first paid staff member, joining the Project in September 2008, after completing her Master’s Degree in Legal Studies at UIS. Originally only part-time because of limited funds, she became full-time when the Project was awarded the Bloodsworth Grant for DNA cases in January, 2011. Rhonda’s work consists of directing students and volunteers on casework, including correspondence with clients, locating and scanning case documents, setting up and attending prison visits with clients, conducting witness interviews, and evaluating cases to determine if the Project will represent the client on post-conviction work. In addition, Rhonda helps plan and coordinate Project fundraising events.

Rhonda earned her undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice and credits her passion for innocence work evolved from taking John Hanlon’s “Conviction of the Innocent” class in Spring 2008.
