Cody Huffines Cody began his work with the Illinois Innocence Project in Fall 2011 to fulfill his Applied Study Term requirement. After completing his internship he continued volunteering with the Project until he graduated in Spring 2012 from the Legal Studies Program. He is currently attending St. Louis University School of Law.
Cody’s interest in the Innocence Project stems from close friends who urged him to take the UIS ECCE course “Conviction of the Innocent” taught be Project Executive Director Larry Golden and Project Legal Director John Hanlon. After reading more about the Innocence Project and the class, he knew this was something that he had to be involved in. By coupling the Conviction class with the experience of working with the Innocence Project, he hopes to become more aware of and more involved in the prevention of wrongful convictions.
