Places to Study in the Libraries

Library West

General study areas, some talking allowed.

    Reserved for enrolled UF graduate students (does not include undergraduate or postbaccalaureate students taking graduate-level courses).

Group studies

  • Fifteen general group studies provide space for collaborative work for groups of up to ten persons.  They may be signed out at the circulation desk on the second floor. See policy at http://www.uflib.ufl.edu/ps/circ/studyroompolicy.html.
  • One 10-person group study room is equipped for teleconferences. To use the teleconferencing equipment you must reserve Room 229 at least 24 hours in advance, and notify library staff that you plan to use the equipment.
  • Two group studies are equipped with specialized ADA and digital media equipment.
  • All studies may be reserved online for 2-hour blocks of time, up to 10 days in advance. Details are at http://www.uflib.ufl.edu/librarywest/using_studyrooms.html

Study carrels

  • Located on the fourth and fifth floors, a limited number of carrel spaces, including a small locker, are assigned to graduate students through a lottery. Graduate students in the sciences may apply. Applications are available online at http://www.uflib.ufl.edu/msl/services/carrel.html. Assignments are for one semester and may be extended for additional semesters if space is available.
