Library Services For Distance Learners
Distance patrons enjoy the same library privileges as on-campus users.
Accessing Your Library Accounts
Distance learners can access library resources and services with a Gatorlink account or UFID. Every UF student, faculty, and staff member is expected to have a GatorLink account which "serves as an individual's computer identity" at UF, enabling access to many campus resources.
Interlibrary Loan
Interlibrary Loan: Distance learners may borrow regular loan materials available at the main UF campus and materials not owned by the UF Libraries. Requests are mailed or emailed to off-campus locations. Review the Interlibrary Loan policies.
Course Reserves
Course Reserves: Some instructors assign readings and place those materials on course reserve. Distance learners can use the electronic materials but hard copy items cannot be mailed. Search by instructor or course number.
RefWorks
RefWorks: Researchers can store citations and organize a personal database of citations gathered from library catalogs, databases and other sources. Bibliographies and in-text citations can also be created with this resource.
Off-Campus Access
Connecting to Resources from Off-Campus Many library resources are limited to current UF faculty, students and staff. To use our electronic resources from off-campus you must first logon to our network. The UF VPN is highly recommended.
Finding E-Resources
Many e-books, journals, and dissertations are searchable and accessible from your desktop. The Education Librarians have identified the databases that provide these education-related research and information sources.
