Tennessee Tech University’s Police Department is a professional law enforcement agency dedicated to the protection and security of the university community. TTU’s University Police support the educational mission of the university through maintaining an environment conducive to learning.
The University Police Department fosters cooperation among its officers and staff, residence hall staff members, university employees and students to enhance the campus’ overall safety and security. The campus community, made up of some 10,321 students and more than 1,150 employees, looks to the professionally trained University Police Department for a variety of services, including law enforcement, traffic and parking regulation, and crime prevention and safety training.
On 12-2-08 two mounted caribou heads were discovered missing off the wall on the 3rd floor of Pennebaker Hall. The screws had been bent as if somone had pulled them down with wood chips from the mounts on the hall floor. The mounts were last seen around 6 PM by a faculty member on 12-1-08. The two caribou mounts are valued at $5,000 each.
Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1,000 for clues called into 520-STOP on any wanted person, stolen property or drugs. Callers remain anonymous; they will only be known by the code number they are assigned. Crime Stoppers is a means for the public, the media, and the law enforcement to work together to solve crimes.
