TCC Navy Reserve Officer Training Corps Program is provided to students through a relationship with Old Dominion University and Norfolk State University.

Why TCC?

There Are No Commitments

You are not obligated to join the service while attending the basic course. The program is a TCC elective course. However, if you perform well and like the NROTC program, you may make it a full or part-time career after college. It is all up to you.

Scholarships and Financial Assistance

The Navy has various scholarships program that you may qualify or you may use your GI Bill Educational benefits if you are a veteran.

Active duty Navy applicants are ineligible to apply for NROTC. Active members of other branches of the military may apply if granted a conditional release. Individuals who are scheduled for boot camp may apply provided they complete all required application evolutions (i.e. strong interest inventory, officer interview, etc.). Naval Service Training Command (NSTC) will accept teacher evaluations, transcripts, and ACT/SAT scores dated after the applicants ship date.

Eligibility

To be eligible a student must have a 2.5 GPA: Complete the Navy college program application. Meet physical and medical requirements.

Courses

TCC NROTC students will be enrolled in a structured curriculum leading to Associate Degree Program with Military Science courses as electives. (TCC offers Military Science Courses for the NROTC students, such as: MSC 125, MSC 130, MSC 230 & 231. Learn more about these courses. These noncommittal elective courses provide a combination of leadership and hands-on training for the future Naval or Marine Corps Officer.
