Program of Study (page 4 of the I-20 Application form)
TCC is authorized by the Student and Exchange Visitor Program to admit F-1 students and issue the form I-20 ONLY for the academic programs listed on page 4 of the I-20 Application and Financial Statement form. Select (1) academic program from the list on page 4 of this form.
3. TOEFL SCORE REPORT/ DEMONSTRATION OF ENGLISH PROFICIENCY
Overseas applicants must submit an official TOEFL score report that is sent to TCC directly from TOEFL/ETS to demonstrate sufficient English proficiency for admission to TCC as an F-1 visa student. A minimum TOEFL score of 45 ( iBT ) is required for admission to the college. An ESL placement test is required upon arrival to the college.
A TOEFL iBT score of 80 or higher will exempt applicants from having to take the TCC ESL Placement Test, but they will still be required to take TCC's placement test for college-level English upon arrival.
Change of status applicants may take TCC’s ESL Placement Test in lieu of submitting an official TOEFL score report for the purpose of admission; but again, a minimum placement into the ESL Intermediate LEVEL II is required.
** If TCC’s ESL Placement test indicates a need to strengthen your English language skills, you will need to complete the required ESL courses before enrolling in your academic program.
4. HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA OR SECONDARY STUDIES FINAL
CERTIFICATE
F-1 applicants must be 18 years of age and provide a COPY of the document that indicates completion of secondary studies, i.e., high school diploma or secondary studies final certificate. Academic credentials submitted to TCC must be accompanied by an English translation. Applicants who have NOT completed secondary studies will not be accepted for English as a Second language study or academic study.
5. CONTINUOUS HEALTH INSURANCE
(page 3 of the I-20 Application form)
All F-1 students and their dependents are required to provide proof of continuous health insurance coverage for each semester, including summer, by the last day of the add/drop week. Proof of international student health insurance that meets the minimum standards set by the ISS Office is mandatory. Students who fail to provide evidence of continuous health insurance for the entire semester, and summer, will be blocked from college transactions.
* The International Student Services Office no longer accepts health coverage from the International Student Organization (ISO). Brochures for companies that meet the ISS requirements are available at the International Student Services Office.
