Find Articles & More in Databases & Indexes Library@TCC
Welcome to electronic research at TCC. Use this web site to find scholarly information from books and periodicals in subscription databases. What are databases? What are periodicals?
TCC provides access to electronic research resources available only by paid subscription. Due to licensing agreements, off campus access for some titles is restricted to and accessible by TCC, VCCS, and VIVA affiliated patrons only.
All electronic resources listed on the Library web site are available at each campus Library. They are also available from any computer on campus with Internet access, including computer labs and faculty and staff offices.
Access to the subscription-based resources from off campus is available for TCC faculty, staff, and registered students through the use of a proxy server. Instructions for accessing materials through the proxy server can be found by clicking on TCC Proxy from the home page or other pages.
Many of the resources available through TCC include the full text of the material identified. Some resources may contain only the textual information from the original source while others may include charts, graphs and illustrations. Some of the full text materials may be in a format that requires separate software, such as Adobe Acrobat, to view. In some cases, a resource may include the full text of some materials and only identifying information or an abstract of others.
If you find only a citation or abstract you may be able to find the full text article in one of the other databases. Using the title of the magazine, newspaper, or journal, use our publication name search. TCC also provides interlibrary loan services to retrieve materials from other libraries.
note Using subject headings in databases shows how to focus your search for better results.
