Engineers apply the principles of science and mathematics to develop economical solutions to technical problems. Their work is the link between scientific discoveries and the commercial applications that meet societal and consumer needs.

Engineering at TCC

Goal of the Engineering Program

The goal of the Engineering Program is to provide students with the necessary courses and skills to meet all requirements of the first two years of a four-year Engineering Program at a college or university.

The Engineering Program at TCC is designed for persons who plan to transfer to a four-year college or university to complete a bachelor's degree in one of several engineering fields such as:

The majority of TCC Engineering students transfer to nearby Old Dominion University (ODU).

Others transfer to Virginia Tech and to various colleges nationwide.

Articulation agreements guarantee acceptance of TCC Engineering graduates into ODU's College of Engineering with a 2.0 GPA and into Virginia Tech's College of Engineering with a 3.0 GPA.
