Overview

Scenic byways highlight transportation corridors that have outstanding scenic, natural, recreational, cultural, historic or archaeological significance. They represent the uniqueness and diversity of the state and together the byways tell stories about New Jersey’s history, heritage, recreational opportunities and beauty.

The New Jersey Department of Transportation invites sponsors to nominate roadways for designation as a scenic byway.
