Touring the Engineering School

The Engineering School tours begin in the lobby of Thornton Hall, where you can also view displays of student and faculty achievements and pick up publications and literature about the Engineering School. These tours are led by Engineering School students, and no appointment is necessary.

ACADEMIC YEAR

During the academic year, when class is in session, tours of the Engineering School are held Monday through Saturday (except for Saturdays of home football games) at 1:00 p.m.

SUMMER

During the summer tours are held Monday thrrough Friday at 1:00 p.m.

ACADEMIC RECESS PERIODS

During academic recess periods (such as Spring Break or Winter Break or between the academic year and the summer), tours are offered less frequently. If you plan to visit the Engineering School during one of these recess periods, please call the Undergraduate Programs office 434.924.4074 at least a few days before you plan to visit, to confirm that a tour will be offered. No reservations are necessary. Check the academic calendar for pertinant dates.

Engineering School tours are also offered during our annual Engineering Open House in March.

Tours of Grounds

The Office of Admissions offers information sessions for prospective students and their families. These briefings, led by the deans of admission, are immediately followed by student-life focused tours of the University Grounds led by undergraduate University Guide Service members. Sessions and tours are accessible to persons using wheelchairs.
