Accelerated Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering
Designed for technical professionals and managers, the Accelerated Master’s Degree in Systems Engineering (AMP) is a hands-on, practical program with a dual emphasis on engineering and business skills. This accelerated, one-year engineering degree program can be completed by attending classes every other weekend on Friday and Saturday in Charlottesville. Next cohort begins May 2013. Learn more
Commonwealth Graduate Engineering Program
The leading universities in the Commonwealth of Virginia developed the Commonwealth Graduate Engineering Program (CGEP) to make master’s degrees in several engineering disciplines easily available to qualified engineers. Through distance learning, students can complete graduate engineering degrees in chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, materials science and engineering, mechanical and aerospace engineering, and systems engineering. Courses offered through UVa are now available over the Internet, either in a live or asynchronous format. Participating students are required to have their own computer and access to the Internet with an "unlimited data" plan. Classes for these engineering degree programs are scheduled in late afternoon and early evening hours. Click on the program links below to learn more.
On-Grounds Courses from the School of Engineering & Applied Science
Individuals may enroll in on-Grounds courses on a part-time basis, without applying to a degree program, by registering as a Community Scholar. Classes offered by the School of Engineering & Applied Science are open to Community Scholars on a space available basis and by permission. Learn more
