Welcome to The New Community College at CUNY!
I am delighted to introduce you to the first new community college at the City University of New York in more than four decades—created specifically to serve you. Our faculty and staff are fully committed to your success, developing a dynamic program that will prepare you for the changing demands of the workforce, as well as go on to earn a bachelor’s degree.
At The New Community College, we will challenge you to think differently about New York City and the larger world—and your role in shaping the future of both. Our courses are designed to link learning in the classroom to “hands-on” career experiences with city organizations and businesses in the outside world. When you join our community, you’ll develop long-lasting friendships with peers and strong relationships with faculty and staff. Most of all, we will support you as you express your unique talents and achieve your aspirations.
Our campus is on Bryant Park in midtown Manhattan—in the heart of New York City. And the City will be at the heart of the college experience, beginning with the Summer Bridge Program, three weeks before fall classes begin.
We encourage you to visit the campus and our website. Imagine yourself sitting in our classrooms; talking with professors and classmates in the hallways; gaining practical career experience through internships and participation in service learning projects. We expect our students to join us in shaping the future for themselves, and for the future of The New Community College.
