SAFETY ALERT
At Murray State University we are committed to your safety. This alert is to heighten your awareness of safety issues.
A approximately 5:40 a.m. on Friday, May 2, 2008, at 1635 Farmer Avenue a shooting occurred. An individual who ran from the residence was located later and transported to Murray Calloway County Hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg. A second individual who fled the scene has been taken into custody.

Faculty Hall Update
Faculty Hall still has only partial power. Final exams for daytime classes will be held in Faculty Hall as scheduled unless students are otherwise notified by their professors. Finals for evening classes will be moved to other buildings on campus: a list of these alternate locations will be posted on the doors of Faculty Hall, and professors may try to contact students as well. For more information, contact the HFA Dean’s Office at 809-6937.

Emergency Call Boxes on Campus
Emergency call boxes throughout campus link to Public Safety dispatchers. When activated Public Safety immediately knows the call box location. In an emergency, activate the emergency call box. Talk with the dispatcher, stating the emergency. Unless at risk, wait at the call box location for the officer to arrive. If you must leave the call box location tell the dispatcher where you are going, which should be a safe place where other people are located.
