The Interlibrary Loan Department consists of two units: Borrowing Services and Lending Services. University of Alabama faculty, students, staff, and retired faculty may use the borrowing services. An electronic interlibrary loan request form is available for your use.

If you do not fall into any of the above patron categories and wish to borrow materials in our library collections, contact the library with which you are affiliated. Our policies for lending materials are outlined on the lending services page.

For answers to interlibrary loan questions concerning eligibility, requesting materials, loan periods, and more, refer to interlibrary loan frequently asked questions.

Faculty members interested in having borrowing privileges and on-site access to collections in North American research libraries may find out about participating institutions through the Reciprocal Faculty Borrowing Program.
