28 KINGSBOROUGH COMMUNITY COLLEGE FACULTY RECEIVE
PSC-CUNY GRANT AWARDS
Congratulations to the 28 Kingsborough Community College junior and senior faculty who were awarded a total of $105,441 in Professional Staff Congress – City University of New York (PSC-CUNY) research grants for 2008-2009. Grant funds will be used to support a wide range of research projects encompassing the following departments: Art, Behavioral Sciences and Human Services, Biological Science, Communication & Performing Arts, English, History, Philosophy & Political Science, Physical Science, and Tourism & Hospitality.
The PSC-CUNY research Award Program was established as a major vehicle for the University’s encouragement and support of faculty research. Most awards range from $3,000 to $5,000, although a maximum of $8,000 can be requested. In addition to funding important research, PSC-CUNY grants can provide faculty with the necessary financial support to “seed” future projects and leverage additional funding from other sources. Preference is given to junior faculty in the allocation of funds.
