About IISP

The Individualized & Interdisciplinary Studies Program (IISP)'s mission is to enhance undergraduate students' academic experience with interdisciplinary and unique learning opportunities. Toward this end, the Program works to support the academic endeavors of faculty based in the University's Schools and Colleges. The principal means by which the IISP assists students to pursue interdisciplinary and unique study is the Individualized Major Program.

Since Fall 2004 the IISP administers interdepartmental (INTD) courses.

The Criminal Justice Minor is administered from the IISP Program Office.

IISP shares its office with the administrator of the Senate's General Education Oversight Committee (chair, Prof. Katharina van Hammerstein) and the Storrs office for the Urban Semester Program (director, Prof. Louise Simmons).
