The 13 top majors among international students in order of preference are Psychology, Nursing, Accounting, Economics, Art, Computer Science, Sociology, Political Science, Biological Sciences, Media Studies, Social Work, Public Health, and Urban Affairs.
The mission of the International Students Office (ISO) is to support international students and exchange visitors in their cultural and educational transition to the College. The ISO assists students in reaching their educational goals by informing them about their rights and responsibilities relative to their immigration status in the United States, creating a supportive environment and ensuring legal compliance in response to the Department of Homeland Security, the State Department and the Students and Exchange Visitors System (SEVIS).

All Newly Admitted Students must learn about the requirements and steps to follow to request the SEVIS I-20 form (Certificate of Eligibility) for the F-1 (student) Visa or the DS2019 form for the J-1 (exchange visitor) Visa.
If you are attending classes at Hunter College, go to the Current Students link for information about the services that are available to all Hunter international students through the ISO. These services include: filing for an extension of stay or reinstatement, applying for permission to work and the social security card, changing immigration status, participating in cultural programs, and other student events.
