    The goal of this class is to provide a basic introduction to PowerPoint and the most frequently used functions for creating and personalizing a PowerPoint presentation. Topics include how to design and add content to slides, how to add images, the basics of charts and graphs, and how to add basic animation to your presentation. The class will be taught in PowerPoint 2010.

    RefWorks is a Web-based bibliographic management software tool designed to help you manage citation information. This hands-on class will cover exporting references into folders from online databases such as Ovid MEDLINE and PubMed. The class will also cover manually adding citations, citing citations in your paper, and creating a bibliography from your references.

    This class covers the basic features and search techniques used for searching the National Library of Medicine's Web-based version of MEDLINE, PubMed. Included are the unique search features of PubMed; how to perform simple searches; how to narrow a search; how to access full-text articles; how to save search results and how to receive updates on search topics.

    This is a two day course on April 24th and 26th, 1-4pm both days. Program participants will take part in two three-hour sessions focusing on how and when to integrate multimedia into instructional and presentation materials. Each participant will have hands-on use of a Macintosh Computer. Instructor approval, based on statement of interest, will be required before attendance can be confirmed.
