The History Department at CCSU offers comprehensive programs for undergraduate and graduate students. Our faculty are widely respected scholars, active in their fields, and honored for their teaching. We offer courses spanning a wide range of times, places and subjects including:
The Department is home to the Stanislaus A. Blejwas Endowed Chair in Polish and Polish American Studies. We offer the M.A. in History, as well as the M.A. in Public History.
Central to the department’s mission is our secondary education program leading to teacher certification. We are certified by both the National Council for the Social Studies and the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education, providing prospective teachers with strong content knowledge and classroom skills. We are also the academic home of , a Teaching American History grant program funded by the U.S. Department of Education.
