Types of Assistance
The University is committed to the pursuit of academic excellence and rewards qualified students with academic merit scholarships.
A GW Grant is a GUARANTEED contribution from GW. It is our guarantee of institutional funds for your entire undergraduate enrollment. Most schools don’t do this. The GW Guaranteed Grant will automatically renew each year without the need to reapply.
Grants and awards are types of financial aid considered “gift money” that doesn’t have to be repaid. In addition to the GW Guaranteed Grant, other grants and awards come from a variety of sources that include federal, university or private funds.
We encourage families to borrow responsibly, and we work with you so that your loan debt is manageable.
