The UF Graduate School Editorial Office is here to serve students, faculty, and staff with thesis, dissertation, and curriculum issues.

For faculty and staff, the Editorial Office coordinates the UF Graduate Catalog and hosts all meetings of the UF Graduate Curriculum Committee, contributing to the online database of graduate course proposals and approvals, known as the approval tracking system.

For students, the Editorial Office oversees the thesis and dissertation process, offering guidance to ensure all graduate students’ theses and dissertations meet UF’s high standards and are ready for electronic submission and digital archiving. The Editorial Office provides checklists,   deadlines, and format guidelines, addressing the Graduate School’s requirements.

In addition, the Editorial Office works hand-in-hand with the Application Support Center, the office providing workshops and one-on-one consulting relating to the formatting templates. The Editorial Office also provides referrals to editors and formatters. The Editorial Office does not examine or critique content, scholarship, research methods or writing style; this is the responsibility of the student and his or her supervisory committee.

Submit your thesis or dissertation and track the submission of data related to the ETD process through the convenient and easy-to-use online portal, known as the EDM: Editorial Document Management System. This system provides a communication mechanism between the Graduate School Editorial staff, the graduating student, and the faculty advisor. The system is synchronous with the GIMS: Graduate Information Management System, which records data about your graduate academic record. At the end of the ETD process, the system transfers all ETDs to the library portal.
