POUNCE Instructions
How to Login to PAWS
- Use your web browser (Internet Explorer 6.0 is recommended) to go to PAWS.
- Click the PAWS Login Page link. To login to the PAWS system, you will need your GCID (see step 1 below) and your PIN (see step 2 below).
- To identify your GCID, click the "Lookup GCID" button. Enter the information requested and click "Get GCID Number." IMPORTANT: If you receive an error message that says "No GCID was found," please click your browser's back button and re-enter your information. Pay close attention to the SSN field (asks for last FIVE digits) and the date of birth field (asks for MMDDYYYY format). If you still receive this error, please contact the Office of the Registrar at 478-445-6286.
- Your PIN is your date of birth in MMDDYY format. Enter your PIN in the field provided, then click login. You will be prompted to confirm your PIN and then set up a Security Question. Complete this step and click "Submit" and you will be logged into the PAWS system.
How to Submit Your POUNCE Course Preference Form
- Login to PAWS using the instructions above.
- Choose the "Menu for New and Returning Students" tab.
- Click on "POUNCE Registration."
- Follow the directions provided to complete the form.
- Before finalizing your preferences, review them carefully as you may POUNCE only once.

*A special note about Foreign Language Placement: Depending on your major, you may be registered for an initial language course based on the results of your WebCAPE Test for Foreign Language Placement. If your major requires an initial fall semester foreign language course and you have not yet completed the foreign language placement test, please follow the instructions below.
- Login to PAWS using the instructions above
- Choose the "Student Services & Financial Aid" tab
- Click on "Registration"
- Click on "WebCAPE Test for Foreign Language Placement"
- Choose your desired language
- Click on "Take Placement Exam"
How to View Your Schedule
Once you have submitted the POUNCE Course Preference Form, an advisor in your major department will create your schedules. Approximately 10-15 business days after you submit your POUNCE Course Preference Form, you will receive an e-mail at your Georgia College Bobcats e-mail account to let you know that your schedules are complete. At that time, you will be able to view your schedules on line.
- Login to PAWS using the instructions above.
- Select the "Student Services & Financial Aid" tab.
- Choose "Registration Menu" from this list.

Click on "GC Printable Schedule" to view your schedule.
Note: Be sure to select Fall 2013 as your initial term.
Locations are subject to change. Remember to re-print your schedule at the beginning of the semester.
How to Check Your E-mail
Every Georgia College student has a Bobcats E-mail account. Your e-mail address is usually formatted as firstname.lastname@bobcats.gcsu.edu. This e-mail is considered an official mode of communication between Georgia College faculty, administration and students. Check your e-mail account everyday for important communications from registration to class assignments to graduation.
- Log into your Bobcats E-mail account.

If you do not know your username and password, please log in to PAWS, click on the "Personal Information" tab and click "Bobcats Email Password Reset"
