Enrollment Verification

The National Student Clearinghouse is our authorized agent for providing degree and enrollment verifications. If you are an employer or background screening firm requesting this information, please contact the National Student Clearinghouse at www.studentclearinghouse.org (or directly at www.degreeverify.com or call them at (703) 742-4200.

Student Self Service Enrollment Verification is available through the myCats portal. 

• Log on to myCats by entering your login name and password
• Click on the Student Tab
• Click on the Paws Main Menu
• Click on Student & Financial Services
• Click on Student Records
• Click on Enrollment Verification Menu
• Choose Enrollment Verification-National (this is an official verification accepted by loan companies, scholarship sponsors,  and insurance carriers).  You will be forwarded to the National Clearinghouse and you may request the certification by current term only or for all terms that you have been enrolled at GCSU.

Good Student Verification for automobile insurance or scholarship offers,  includes the student grade point average and requires the signature of the student.  Good Student verifications may be obtained by completing the Request Form and either faxing it to  478-445-1914 or by mailing to GCSU, Office of the Registrar, CBX 023, Milledgeville GA 31061or by dropping it by 107 Parks Hall on the Milledgeville Campus. 

Both a signature and photo ID are required when a student has requested that his or her records be maintained as confidential.

Enrollment verification through National Student Clearinghouse will be available according to the following schedule:

• Fall 2007 Enrollment verification beginning August 21, 2007.

• Spring 2008 Early Registration verification beginning December 13, 2007.

• Spring 2008 Enrollment verification beginning January 9, 2007.

• Summer 2008 Early Registration verification beginning May 8, 2008.

• Summer 2008 Enrollment verification beginning May 13, 2008.

Reasons for Verification Letters:

• Lenders - require verification of enrollment for deferments, forbearances and scheduled paybacks. GCSU is a participant of The National Student Loan Clearinghouse (NSLC). GCSU automatically submits student information to the NSLC each term, they in turn make the information available to a wide variety of lenders.
• Insurance Companies - require verification of enrollment to provide continued health insurance coverage and good student discounts for automobile insurance.
• Scholarship Sponsors - require verification of enrollment to verify student progress.

Enrollment verifications may also be obtained from the Office of the Registrar.  You may submit the necessary information either by e-mailing the Registrar's Office at registrar@gcsu.edu, or by sending the Request Form to  GCSU, Office of the Registrar, Campus Box 23, Milledgeville, GA 31061, or by faxing your request to (478) 445-1914, or by calling the office at (478) 445-6286.
