Many writers, educators, and others have extolled the benefits of traveling and studying abroad over the years. Now, more than ever before, study abroad is an essential ingredient of a liberal arts education.
We strongly encourage our Honors students to explore opportunities for traditional study abroad, overseas language training, semester-long exchange programs, international internships, and international service and service-learning.
Georgia College's International Education Center has an extensive library of study abroad materials and a team of study abroad advisors to help students find the right international education experience.
Here are some of our students' recent international education experiences:
"Living in Sweden in 2009 taught me not only about that country's culture, history, and educational system, but also about community, friend-ship, and laughter. I was overwhelmed by the welcome I received from my host family, host teacher, and people in the community who invited me into their schools, homes, lives, and even their birthday parties!"
