Instructional Technology (M.Ed.)

This program has been updated to satisfy the new PSC requirements for Instructional Technology, and will now lead to an S-5 certification in Instructional Technology. This program will prepare candidates to work in P-12 schools as technology facilitators, including the support of instruction, student learning, professional development, and general assistance to teachers. Additionally, this major encompasses the theoretical and practical aspects of the analysis, design and implementation of educational and training products and systems. This degree is not offered in a cohort model. Most of the coursework is online.
Admission Requirements

- Official copies of all transcripts
- Passing scores on the Graduate Writing Assessment
- Minimal GPA of 2.5
- Verification of immunization
Certification
Candidates must successfully pass the GACE content assessment and complete the program to receive S-5 certification. This certification will be for all grade levels (P-12).
Bridge Course
Georgia College offers a bridge course, EDIT 6959. This course is for candidates who previously completed IT degrees from any accredited college/university and would like to earn Georgia S-5 certification in Instructional Technology to work in K-12 schools. It will ensure that the candidates meet TPACK(Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge) standards before they become certified by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission..
