Bobcat Baseball Heads to PBC Tournament

AIKEN, S.C. – Held at USC Aiken’s beautiful Roberto Hernandez Stadium, the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) Baseball Championship Tournament begins this week, with the Georgia College & State University squad (32-22) as the No. 5-seed, taking on the host and No. 2-seed Pacers in the 2 p.m. game Thursday, May 8.

Six squads make the PBC Championships, led by regular-season champion Columbus State University. USCA is the No. 2 seed, while No. 3 Francis Marion University takes on No. 4 North Georgia College & State University. Armstrong Atlantic State University is the No. 6 seed.

The Bobcats are 22-19 all-time in the Peach Belt Tournament, making it to four championship games.

The GCSU Department on Athletics sponsors 10 NCAA Division II athletic programs over three seasons. As a Division II program, GCSU prides itself on balancing the life of the student-athlete, evidenced by the Bobcats’ multiple appearances in post-season competition as well as documented academic success and community-service involvement.
