Times Talk
Times Talk"Times Talk is one of the best activities this campus has ever seen," is a paraphrase of several faculty member comments following their participation as a discussion facilitator. The weekly current events discussion fueled by newsprint and pizza attracts participants with a keen interest in civil discourse. Session facilitators – professors, staff members, or students- choose a New York Times article. The week's discussion subject is disseminated through a campus-wide announcement and participants gather to debate and discuss the issues of the day.

During the past academic year, Times Talks addressed the economic crisis and President Obama's State of the Union address, among other topics.
The New York Times Readership Program funding is shared by the GC Student Government Association's Student Activity Budget Committee and Office of the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs and overseen by the ADP. The New York Times is an active partner by providing refreshments, advertising in The Colonnade student newspaper, and bringing journalists to campus.
