You Will Make a Difference
Your gift demonstrates that you believe public higher education is important and worthy of investment. Whether you support our students by making contributions to doctoral student fellowships or research funds, help one of our academic programs, centers, or institutes, or contribute to the annual fund, your gift has a positive and lasting impact.

Each and every contribution ensures the future of the Graduate Center and the continued fulfillment of its mandate to provide a forum for discourse and debate on issues of critical importance to New York City, the nation, and the world.
Private Contributions are Critical for Our Future
The landscape of public higher education has changed dramatically since the Graduate Center was founded 50 years ago. In order to respond to fundamental transformations in academic funding and practice, the Graduate Center must, like all other top-tier public universities, find supplemental means of ensuring that its students receive the most forward-looking and valuable educational experience possible. Private support is crucial as it enables the kind of academic innovation that tax-levied funds often cannot provide.

The Graduate Center Foundation, a separately governed, 501(c)(3) charitable organization, exists to accept and manage private contributions for the benefit of the Graduate Center. When you make a contribution, you join the foundation’s commitment to support and ensure excellence in public education. Your contribution to the foundation supports the Center's ability to pursue ambitious strategic goals that reach beyond available public funding.
