Be Prepared Before Starting a Fully Online Class

Get Ready! Are you considering a degree which is mostly or fully online? Online learning IS different, and there are some things you should know before getting started! Take our "Is Online Learning Right for Me?" quiz to learn more.

Ready to take an online class? First you need to complete our online tutorial, which will give you the FerrisConnect skills to be successful in your online class!

Already taken online courses? There is an option to submit an orientation waiver.

Go! Each student registered in a fully online class should sign into the course and read the syllabus on the FIRST DAY OF CLASS – which is typically the first day of the semester or course period. To check semester start dates, check the University events calendar.

Want to check that we have recorded your orientation completion (or waiver submission)? Go to the "Academics & Services" tab in MyFSU, and click on "Test Scores." If you see a test score of '1' for Online Readiness, that means your completion has been recorded!

What location is more convenient than your own home? Ferris offers select programs in an online format so you can move ahead without moving all over town.

In addition to our fully online degree and certificate programs, we have a host of online classes available. Search the system for the classes currently available online. Just select a semester from the drop-down menu in MyFSU, highlight all course subjects, and select the attribute type "Fully Online."
