• The University has entered into a partnership with the Michigan Department of Education that exemplifies Ferris' commitment to access to education for state high school students.
• Ferris State University professor Greg Gogolin has received a Fulbright Scholarship to teach this fall at the University of Chile in Santiago.
• Four Ferris State University students will compete in the SkillsUSA Championships June 27 in Kansas City, Mo.
• At its meeting on Friday, May 10, the Ferris State University Board of Trustees voted to set tuition rates for the 2013-14 academic year, implementing a 2.24-percent increase for undergraduate tuition.
• The renovated historic Federal Building in downtown Grand Rapids, which expanded Ferris State University’s Kendall College of Art and Design campus, will be named the Woodbridge N. Ferris Building .  
• About 1,700 of 1,850 students who are candidates for degrees will participate in spring commencement ceremonies on Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11 in Big Rapids.  
• Ferris and the Big Rapids community will pay tribute to fallen officers during the Police Memorial Ceremony at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 14. The public is invited to attend.
• The inaugural class of students empowered to lead community colleges into the future will graduate Friday, May 10 with a Doctorate in Community College Leadership from Ferris.
• The University and five other recipients were presented with 2013 Governor’s Awards for historic preservation at a ceremony in the state capitol rotunda.  
• University has been awarded a $110, 520 grant to develop and deliver a comprehensive fleet management training program for the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

Ferris State University St. Clair County Sheriff Donnellon Receives COEHS Distinguished Alumni Award

Tim Donnellon, sheriff of St. Clair County, has received a 2013 Distinguished Alumni Award from the College of Education and Human Services. Donnellon graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice, with high distinction. more...
