Student Organizations
Ferris State University has many (over 450) registered student organizations (RSOs). There are social student organizations, and professional student organizations. A social student organization includes organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Red Cross, Crafters Anonymous, Women in Technology, sororities, fraternities. Professional student organizations are usually related to a students major such as the American Marketing Association or the Association of Information Technology Professionals.
Being a member of a professional student organization is an integral part of a students preparation for the work force. Membership benefits include giving students the opportunity to get leadership experience, do volunteer work, and get connected to individuals working in their chosen field of study. Student organization take field trips, have guest speakers, and help students learn how to apply the knowledge learned in the classroom to their potential careers.

Accounting Association
The purpose of this association shall be to encourage and recognize high achievement by students enrolled in Accountancy and to provide a means for students enrolled in Accountancy to broaden their knowledge and understanding of the accounting profession and business by holding discussions on current accounting problems and practices and job opportunities.

AdGroup
The Adgroup is a Registered Student Organization open to all majors which focuses on the advertising industry. It is the FSU chapter of the national American Advertising Federation (AAF). Members have access to exclusive speakers, resume and interview advice as well as trips to Chicago and other major cities to tour advertising agencies. We hold regular fundraisers, social events to get to know the members, and other networking events including involvement with other RSOs on campus. The AdGroup annually anticipates in the National Student Advertising Competition.

These objectives are accomplished three ways: trips, guest speakers, and extracurricular projects.
