Are you exploring new career options? Becoming a teacher may be easier than you think. Coupled with your work experience, your bachelor's degree in education will give you an edge as you pursue teaching positions in high schools, technical-vocational centers, alternative and magnet schools, tech-prep programs and other non-traditional educational studies. This degree program also prepares you to pursue a postgraduate degree in education or education administration.

For students just starting out on their bachelor degree in Secondary Education teaching, there is a selection of majors and minors available at our regional locations in Flint and Traverse City. Check on the location closest to you for specifics!
*Other options may exist for majors and minors, with courses completed through a combination of courses offered on the main campus and transfer from other institutions. Contact an advisor for more information.
All education programs at Ferris State University require pre-student teaching (40 hours, and 80 hours) in the classroom, as well as a final student teaching experience. Additional information can be found on our field placement site.
