Briefly:
Kuo Huang is a Senior Economist of the Diet, Safety, and Health Economics Branch in ERS' Food Economics Division. His research has focused on consumer demand for foods and food manufacturing.

Background:
Prior to joining ERS, Kuo was a faculty member in the National Taiwan University and a post-doctoral researcher in the University of California at Berkeley. He has received several awards for his food demand research: (1) The ERS Administrator's Excellence Award for Research, (2) Two ERS Administrator's Special Merit Awards for Outstanding Research, (3) American Agricultural Economics Association's Honorable Mention in Research Discovery Award, and (4) Two Southern Agricultural Economics Association's Distinguished Professional Contributions Awards.

Education:
Kuo received his Ph.D. in Agricultural Economics and M.A. in Statistics from the University of California at Berkeley. He also received his M.S. and B.S. in Agricultural Economics from the National Taiwan University.
