Briefly:
Aylin Kumcu is an Agricultural Economist in the Food Markets Branch of the Food Economics Division. Her research focuses on retail food prices and household demand for food.
Background:
Aylin joined the Economic Research Service in August 2009. Prior to arriving at ERS, she was a research assistant at the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) in the Division of Price and Index Number Research. At BLS, Aylin assisted in research on income taxes, medical price indexes, and price indexes for select electronic goods.
Education:
Aylin is currently pursuing an M.A. in Economics from the George Washington University. She earned her B.A. in Economics and Political Science, with Honors, from McGill University.
