Research & Outreach

Research and service are two major components of our core mission and have resulted in outreach efforts that touch more than 70 percent of Connecticut's communities, as well as another 300 or so in the U.S. and internationally.

The Carnegie Foundation has designated the University of Connecticut, and therefore the Neag School, as a Research University-Extensive. This distinction is awarded to fewer than four percent of universities in the U.S.

NSoE faculty have established a reputation for conducting and applying quality, meaningful investigations that speak to the critical issues in education and health. Our work attracts significant grants from federal, state, private and university sources. The quality of our research is underscored by the two national centers based at the Neag School, the National Research Center on the Gifted and Talented and the Center for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports.
