Teacher Certification Program for College Graduates (TCPCG)

TCPCG Facts!

Earn CT Teacher Certification and M.A. in Education

ONE YEAR

FULL TIME
Part time option is not available 

New program begins every Summer
Four Semesters: Summer Session I, Summer Session II, Fall semester, Spring Semester 

Certification Areas (grades 7 – 12)
English – Math – Science – History/Social Studies – World Language – Agriculture (grades k-12) – Special Education (grades k – 12) West Htfd Campus only

Applications will be accepted from September 1 – December 1 for the following summer

Admission Requirements

Undergraduate degree with required credits in the subject area you want to teach
Most subject areas require a minimum of 36 credits

Praxis I exam or Praxis I Waiver

Praxis II exam

or

ACTFL exam for World Language candidates
www.languagetesting.com

U.S. History course
www.sde.ct.gov/sde

Physical Education/Health class
An online CPR course will be accepted
