Course fees during 2012-2013 are $681 a credit hour and a registration fee of $62.00. All fees are subject to change and typically increase annually.
Yes. Applicants must take the Graduate Record Exam which includes a writing assessment. We can accept scores for tests administered within six years of the application deadline provided the exam you took included the text of analytical writing or a separate writing assessment..
To find out more about these tests and where they can be taken go to www.ets.org. When you register to take the GRE test, please request that your scores be sent directly to the Ed.D. program by selecting Code 3143 (CCSU Ed.D. Educational Leadership).
To assure full consideration of your application, GRE scores should be submitted by the application deadline of December 1, 2012.
Yes, students who choose the educational administration specialty can complete courses leading to the Intermediate Administrator/Supervisor (092). They will also need to pass the Connecticut Administrator Test (CAT) and receive institutional recommendation for certification. With four additional courses 12 (SH), students can become eligible for the Superintendent’s Certificate (093).
Certification as a reading consultant (097) is also possible for student with an appropriate background. Send an email to Dr. Helen Abadiano, Reading Department Chair for further information about the 097.
In most instances, graduates from a Sixth Year Program will be able to apply sixth year coursework to meet the 15 credit specialization requirement. Students whose specialization requirements are waived will complete 48 hours instead of 63. Other students with the 092 may also be permitted to waive the 15 credit specialization requirement following a review by the advisor and the program director.
Yes, the Department of Higher Education approved the CCSU program with the stipulation that the “program limit its focus to schools and to the preparation of school leaders.”
