Floyd Dunn

Floyd Dunn (BSEE ’49, MSEE ’51, PhD ’56), a U of I emeritus professor of electrical engineering, biophysics, and bioengineering, has a worldwide reputation as a prominent researcher in the interaction of ultrasound with biological media. He is a member of both the National Academy of Sciences and the National Academy of Engineering. He was instrumental in establishing the U of I bioengineering program and the Bioacoustics Research Lab (BRL). He served as BRL director from the time of its creation in 1977 until his retirement in 1995.
