After consultation with and input from the campus unions, an Objective-setting and Review process has been developed.
The process supports the University’s strategic aim of embedding and supporting a culture of performance management and improvement throughout the institution to unlock the full productive capacity of staff during the challenging times ahead.
The process will be launched for all staff (except manual staff with no supervisory responsibilities) on 1 March 2010.
Individual members of staff will meet annually with their line manager to review their achievements over the previous year and agree their objectives for the forthcoming year. The meeting will also provide the opportunity to identify training or personal development needs. Details of the Objective-setting and Review process can be found on the Human Resources website, http://www.dundee.ac.uk/hr/ under Quick Links.
Over the next few weeks Deans of School / Heads of Unit will be asked to identify people in line management roles and they will attend a training course on conducting Objective-setting and Review meetings, prior to the introduction of the process. Further details will be provided shortly about the available training for reviewers.
For staff who have no people management responsibilities workshops will be delivered by your College/SASS Human Resources Officer and they will provide further information about this early in 2010.
