DGS Advisor Ryan Tomasiewicz Appointed to National Advising Research Committee

Ryan Tomasiewicz, academic advisor, was recently appointed to the NACADA Research Committee for a two-year term. Dr. Tomasiewicz was the 2010 recipient of a NACADA Research Grant for his work on “Efficacy of a Strengths-based Approach in a University 101 Course with Undecided Students.”
The goal of the research committee is to promote scholarship and excellence in practice within the field of academic advising. Through the committee, Ryan will collaborate with researchers and scholars to establish the research agenda for the national organization and financially support research through grant opportunities.

Scholastic Awards Ceremony

We would like to congratulate the 145 DGS students who were recognized at the 44th Annual Mom's Day Scholastic Awards Ceremony that took place on Sunday, April 22!
The award ceremony celebrates the academic accomplishments of African-American, Latino/Latina, Native American, President's Award Program students and Educational Opportunities Program students.
Honorees qualified for this recognition by achieving a GPA of 3.45 to 4.00 during either the previous Fall or Spring semester.

Campus GPA Calculator

Our campus has developed a GPA calculator that is now available to all students.
This is a great resource for estimating and predicting a future GPA.
