About Us

CUNY LEADS is a partnership project established to facilitate the successful academic and career outcomes for students with disabilities who are enrolled in CUNY programs. The project provides services for eligible students which include:

  • Career counseling
  • Job seeking skills
  • Job placement assistance
  • Free textbooks
  • Training regarding ADA/504
  • Internship assistance

This new and exciting program is free of charge for all eligible candidates and available on all CUNY campuses. Each campus will have a LEADS counselor assigned to it that will partner with various agencies and businesses to provide the necessary assistance to students.

Mission

LEADS is a unique partnership between the City University of New York (CUNY) and Vocational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID), created to provide students with disabilities the skills to make realistic academic and career choices that will result in successful career outcomes.

Vision

LEADS will establish itself as a national model of collaboration between the university and the state vocational rehabilitation agency. It will serve as a best-practices demonstration project and a training resource for the development of programs that prepare students with disabililties for realistic and successful employment outcomes.
