Hanover County's home page calendar includes meetings that are led by the County's elected officials or their appointees and staffed by employees. The public is invited to attend these meetings but official public hearings are held only by the Board of Supervisors, the Planning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals. If you would like more information about a specific meeting, click on the link.
The Board generally meets on the second and fourth Wednesdays of the month, with the general exception of July, August and December, in the Board Room of the County Administration Building. The Board also schedules special meetings.

Top Of PageEstablished by the Board of Supervisors in January 2010, this citizens committee will look at defining the scope on what can be done to help increase access to high-speed internet. High-speed internet services are provided by the private sector. This committee generally meets 6-8 p.m. at the Hanover County Parks and Recreation office, 13017 Taylor Complex Lane, Ashland VA 23005; Taylor Park - Classroom 1. The Historic Courthouse Area Advisory Committee meets as needed to discuss issues and make recommendations regarding improvements to the old Courthouse and Jail, including interior improvements. Their recommendations are reviewed by the Architectural Review Board. The Committee meets in the Planning Conference Room, 2nd floor of the Administration Building, at 5:30 p.m.
