In Spring 2002, the Board of Supervisors established the official vision and mission for Hanover County government in an effort to "remain focused on those activities appropriate and critical for local government."
The Hanover County Vision and Mission statements were updated in the Summer of 2011.
The following statements are the Board members' standards for focused County government:
