Clemson University is launching a two-year initiative to add more than 100 new tenured and tenure-track faculty to support high-quality education and research in strategic focus areas — advanced materials, energy/environment, health, information technology systems and transportation — all as outlined in the University’s strategic plan, the 2020 Road Map.

New hires will include at least 10 endowed chairs and a number of named professorships.

The Road Map will provide funding and support to

• enhance student quality and performance;
• provide engagement and leadership opportunities for all students;
• attract, retain and reward top people; and
• build to compete — facilities, infrastructure and technology.
