FACILITIES (12:52 p.m. Nov. 18): A generator now is providing power to Sikes Hall.
FACILITIES (11:37 a.m. Nov. 18): All campus buildings have power now except Sikes, which is expected to have generator power by 2.
Students should go to class unless told otherwise.
The recent outage occurred when a breaker tripped while equipment was being serviced at the main substation and it is not expected to happen again today.
The overnight outage was caused when a 1970s-era switch failed. Facilities will determine how long repairs will take after the Sikes generator is installed.
Updates will be posted at http://www.clemson.edu/cusafety.
FACILITIES (5:35 a.m. Nov. 18): Facilities restored power to all campus buildings except Sikes Hall, which has no power, heat, elevator or Internet service. It may take several hours to connect a portable generator to the building, so operations will be affected.
Departments located in Sikes may not be open or may move to alternate locations. Sikes employees should contact their supervisors for information. See www.Clemson.edu/cusafety for updates about Sikes operations.
